A Full-Facility Esports Lab, Built from Scratch
Stafford Municipal School District knew what they wanted to build. They saw where esports and STEM were heading and set out to get their students there first. No other district in the region had created an esports facility at the time, and SMSD's leadership had done the homework to know it was worth doing, and worth doing right.
They also knew a build at this level goes best as a collaboration, so they turned to a partner they already trusted. TanChes had supported SMSD's IT and technology infrastructure for years, and when the district set its sights on esports, they came to us to see if we could help bring it to life. We worked alongside the district's team from the start, aligned on their goals for the program, and then designed, procured, and deployed the facility utilizing DIR and OMNIA contracts. That kept the entire project under one contract and took the burden of a standalone bid off the district's plate.
The result is an esports lab tied to STEM education, and we built every layer of it. We brought in an electrician for the electrical work and ran the structured cabling throughout the facility ourselves, placing data drops and power where the room needed them, then stood up a robust, low-latency network made for competitive play. We sourced and deployed the full hardware lineup, working alongside Dell/Alienware, MSI, Samsung, and others to bring added resources to the program, and researched grants to help fund what comes next. After go-live, we stayed on for ongoing support and maintenance, so the lab keeps performing and the district always has someone to call.
SMSD set the direction, and we delivered the build to match it. First in the region, and built to scale from here.
